Ivy League Grad Brings Decade of Experience and Passion for Sustainability

Wilton, CT – Hoffman Landscapes, a leading provider of landscape design, installation, and maintenance services, is excited to announce the addition of Marissa Angell to its Landscape & Pool Construction department as a Landscape Architect.

Angell brings over ten years of experience in landscape architecture and design, with a focus on sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. She holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design, a Bachelor's of Agricultural Sciences from Cornell University, and a major in Journalism and Advertising from Syracuse University.

As the owner of Marissa Angell Landscape Design, LLC and a consultant for various landscape design firms, Angell has worked on a range of projects, from residential gardens to large-scale institutional properties. She has also served as an instructor at Harvard GSD, Pratt University, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, New York Botanical Gardens, and worked as an associate landscape architect for Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates.

Angell has received numerous awards and grants for her own work, including the Invasive Plant Society of America Research Grant and the Hatch Supplement Student Grant from Cornell University. In her tenure as a designer, Angell has worked on a range of notable projects, including the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Parks of Buffalo and Detroit, Waterloo Park in Austin, the Pierhouse at Brooklyn Bridge Park in New York, as well as prominent residences throughout the northeast. She has also been involved in speaking engagements such as the Ithaca Native Landscape Symposium in 2019 and 2020, as well as the Cornell University Lecture Series in 2017.

In her role as a landscape architect, Angell joins a national award-winning organization and will be responsible for designing and managing a variety of landscape projects, from concept to completion.

As Hoffman Landscapes continues to expand, Angell is just one of the skilled professionals the company has welcomed to complement its growing team. Joining the roster of new associates are Joe Sopczneski as Construction Manager, responsible for overseeing landscape and pool construction projects. Joseph Napoli takes on the role of Logistics Manager, ensuring seamless coordination and timely resource management. Casey Thomson-Comstock joins as Irrigation Manager, focusing on the design and maintenance of efficient irrigation systems. Additionally, Wesley Fagan and Michael Pacelli have been appointed as Property Care Managers, dedicated to delivering exceptional care for client properties. These new additions reflect Hoffman Landscapes' commitment to providing outstanding landscape solutions and services.
