Wilton’s Municipal Election will take place on November 7, 2023. Here at HamletHub, we welcome both the Wilton Republican and Democrat Town Committees to introduce their candidates.

Get to know Wilton Republican candidates through a series of interviews.

Meet Lori Bufano, Board of Education candidate.

Q: Why are you running?

A: I am running for the Board of Education to make a difference for students and staff. I have attended Wilton schools and believe they are a shining asset for our town. My experience on Planning and Zoning Boards as well as my term as Second Selectman have given me a unique perspective on the school system and workings of town government. My record is one of responsible leadership. I am well positioned to serve and have a firm grasp of budgeting, staffing and expense management.

Q: What are your goals if elected?

A: I am a consensus builder and strive to be collaborative with board members. It is my hope to bring true collaboration, open dialogue and cooperation to the budgeting process. We must work together to provide students and staff with resources they need to succeed. I would also like to focus on non-labor opportunities for savings. I have been successful in my career in finding savings that do not affect labor. These are several of my goals if elected.

Q: What is one fun fact about you?

A: I am a College Basketball enthusiast!
