Wilton Historical Society Announces New Benefit Event "Taste in Time" on March 2

A Dinner for the Ages - Wilton Historical Society Announces New Benefit Event, Taste in Time on Saturday, March 2, 6 pm to 9 pm att the Wilton Historical Society

Take a step back to the past, enjoy great food and drink, and support your local community. On Saturday, March 2nd, from 6 to 9 pm, guests are invited to explore the Wilton Historical Society’s beautiful and unique historic spaces as you eat and drink your way through different eras of history.

For this brand new event, the Society has partnered with Marcia Selden Catering of Stamford, CT, to create a well researched and historically inspired menu that will immerse guests in nearly three centuries of Wilton, from the early Colonial years, to the Victorian, and through to a Prohibition speakeasy. Guests are invited – even encouraged – to embrace this unparalleled historical setting - historical costumes and dress are welcome! The Society’s charming and storied buildings, the c. 1770 Sloan-Raymond-Fitch House, the c. 1740 Betts-Sturges-Blackmar House, and the c. 1840 Burt Barn Gallery, will be decorated for the occasion.

This event was planned through the hard work and dedication of the Society’s Development and Party Plan Committees, consisting of committee members Nancy Perez, Katy Williams, Mike Safko, Hal Higby, Ceci Maher, Mary Anne Mendola Franco, Amanda Mitchell, Karen Tartell, Sabeth Albert,Virginia gunther, Abbey Dillon, Jenna Garecht, and Nick Foster.

“We are thrilled to introduce this new event. It’s going to be a really unique experience, since the setting and the atmosphere is something that can’t be recreated,” said Nancy Perez, President of the Board of Trustees of the Wilton Historical Society, “and it’s a great opportunity to support a community organization since all proceeds go directly towards our mission to preserve Wilton’s history, and to connect, engage and educate all who would look to the past to shape the future.”

Event will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Society’s Museum Complex, 224 Danbury Road, Wilton, Connecticut. Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased visiting https://wiltonhistorical.org/ or by calling 203-762-7257.
