Wilton Library Celebrates its 130th Year on May 10th

On May 10th, one hundred and thirty years ago, some very forward-thinking people came together and decided that Wilton needed a library in its community. Today, Wilton Library is housed in a beautiful modernist building in the heart of Wilton’s town center, with more than 707,000 items in circulation. The library is fulfilling its vision to provide informative programs, comprehensive resources, innovative technology, and stellar services in an environment where everyone is made to feel safe and welcome.

"What started as just a few books has grown into this amazing place where people learn, create, and connect. This milestone isn't just about the library—it's about the powerful idea that when everyone has access to knowledge, our entire community thrives and grows stronger,” said Suzanne Verrilli, Head of Development at Wilton Library.

In celebration of the exciting 130th anniversary, Wilton Library is reaching out with a special appeal to members of the community to consider making a donation of $130 – just $1 for each year of service! Gifts of any amount are welcome and will make a meaningful difference by helping to support programs and expand collections. For those who would like to make a donation, please visit www.wiltonlibrary.org/donate.
