
Thursday, July 26 Kids Knit!, 4 – 5:30 p.m. Knitting has been around for centuries, and the first knitting trade guild was founded in 1527 (the Late Middle Ages) in France. In this interactive workshop, children will learn the basics of knitting including casting on, the knit stitch, and binding off. Materials will be provided. Shirley Spencer, President of the Candlewood Valley Knitting Guild, will lead the workshop. In addition to teaching, Ms. Spencer designs and writes knitting patterns. Registration required.
