Person-to-Person Receives Grant from Newman’s Own Foundation

Person-to-Person has received a $10,000 grant from Newman’s Own Foundation for the Emergency Assistance Program which provides food, clothing, financial assistance and casework counseling to the working poor and people experiencing a situational crisis.

For nearly 30 years, Paul Newman and Newman’s Own Foundation have supported the work of Person-to-Person, whose mission – providing emergency assistance for basic needs and support for individuals and families as they move toward stability – aligns with the Foundation’s focus on empowering those less fortunate.

Executive Director Ceci Maher notes the number of agencies providing the breadth of services offered by Person-to-Person has declined, but the need is still here. “The ongoing support of Newman’s Own Foundation ensures that P2P continues as a strong and vital resource for people living in Norwalk, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Westport, Weston and Wilton.”

Newman’s Own Foundation turns all net profits and royalties from the sale of Newman’s Own products into charitable donations. Since 1982, 100% of the profits from the sale Newman’s Own products, now totaling more than $500 million, has been contributed to thousands of nonprofit organizations worldwide.
