Nonprofit Registration for Fairfield County’s Giving Day 2019 Closes February 1

Nonprofit Registration for Fairfield County’s Giving Day 2019 Closing Soon! February 1st Deadline Approaches - Register HERE

Fairfield County’s Giving Day, which will be held on February 28 this year, has become a tradition for many of the region’s nonprofits to shine while raising much-needed funding. The region’s biggest day of philanthropic giving has also become an opportunity for many other nonprofits to join in the momentum established over the past five years and challenge donors, new and old, to give as little as $10 to make a difference in the Fairfield County community.  Approximately 400 nonprofits have already registered to participate this year…but time is running out!

With the February 1st deadline for nonprofits to register to participate in this year’s 24-hour day of giving quickly approaching, the Sixth Annual Giving Day on February 28, powered by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, is guaranteed to once again be an inspiring day of philanthropy in Fairfield County benefiting a host of nonprofits.

Fairfield County’s Giving Day was initiated in 2014 by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation to empower the nonprofit community and provide anyone the ability to participate in local philanthropy. Since its inception, nearly $6 million has been raised for 746 local nonprofits. In just 24-hours last year, Fairfield County’s Giving Day 2018 raised $1.4 million for 416 nonprofits with 16,593 total gifts from 13,137 individual donors.

“We encourage all nonprofit organizations to register before the February 1 deadline and join us on February 28th for Giving Day 2019,” stated Juanita James, President and CEO, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. “When Fairfield County’s nonprofits prosper our entire community has the opportunity to thrive. Giving Day is a unique opportunity for each of us to strengthen the community where we live and work!”

All nonprofit organizations throughout the region, large and small, are invited to join in this amazing opportunity to secure donations and increase awareness for their mission. Participants will learn specific steps to take and have access to an online library of resources, including a toolkit, instruction videos and more, to create stories for their Giving Day campaign and beyond. Nonprofit organizations receive training via in-person and online workshops to effectively reach new supporters on Giving Day.

On Thursday February 7th, there will be a live webinar hosted by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation Center for Nonprofit Excellence.  Giving Day’s participating nonprofits are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to make the most of Fairfield County's Giving Day. With only a few weeks until the biggest philanthropic event in Fairfield County, there’s still time to create a Giving Day campaign that is ready to go. In this webinar, nonprofits will learn last minute tips and best practices to engage with their supporters and be successful on Fairfield County's Giving Day. The Fairfield County's Giving Day team will also be available to answer any and all of your last-minute questions.

Fairfield County’s Community Foundation is proud to partner with Champion Sponsor, Bank of America, for the sixth year in a row. Its dedication and the dedication of all of the Giving Day partners and sponsors to the greater community of nonprofits in Fairfield County helps to power the success of Giving Day.
