Wilton Police Thank Sewa4Community, Connecticut for Delicious Generosity

Sewa4Community, Connecticut, an effort lead by the Dharma-Sewa communities, 20+ CT organizations and local communities with the motto of "Service to Humanity is Service to Divinity", has bestowed their generosity upon the Wilton Police Department.

Officers offered heartfelt thanks on their Facebook Page saying, "Over the past three days the Sewa4Community-Connecticut families have provided lunch for our officers, truly establishing that protection connection.  Thank you so much #Sewa4Community-Connecticut families for your generosity."

Wilton Police reflect on September 2019 when they were fortunate to celebrate the Hindu tradition of Rakṣhā Bandhana, loosely translated as the “Protection Connection,” with families from Sewa4Community-Connecticut.  "As part of that celebration, Rākhīs (Indian friendship bands) were tied to the wrists of our officers," they explain.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sewa4Community is supporting local food pantries and soup kitchens who serve our communities, enabling them to have the necessary resources to keep their staff equipped with enough food supplies to meet the rising demand.

Below is the snapshot of various activities going on in Connecticut by a combined effort of 25+ local organizations (courtesy of Wilton Police)

- 3500 masks delivered to Yale, Danbury, Trumbull, Stamford, Hartford and Stratford
- Funds planned for Soup Kitchens - Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Food Bank of Lower Fairfield
- Helping Tourists and Students with stay and food.
- The best part is Community organizations working together we have never seen before.
- Appreciating First Responders - Lunches, Meal Trains signups etc.
