Wilton Rocks for Food Benefit Concert is Saturday, December 1

Wilton Rocks for Food presents its fourth benefit concert for the Connecticut Food Bank and the Wilton Food Pantry on Saturday, December 1, at 8:00 PM at the Trackside Teen Center in Wilton. Doors open at 7:00PM. The concert will feature more than 30 Wilton musicians.

The event is sold out, but the organizer, Wilton resident Andy Schlesinger, said they are still raising funds for the Connecticut Food Bank and Wilton Food Pantry. “We are still accepting donations online,” Schlesinger said. “We hope to exceed our fundraising goal to provide important help to these organizations,” Schlesinger said 100-percent of funds raised are donated to the two food assistance organizations. The event website is www.wiltonrocks.com.

Last year’s event raised $81,000 for the two organizations. Schlesinger said the goal this year is to raise $100,000. He says he has cause to be hopeful because interest is strong. “Last year, tickets sold out in two days. This year, we sold out in eight hours!” Schlesinger added that a silent auction at the event will provide additional opportunity to meet the goal.

Wilton Rocks for Food will feature food, beer, and a silent auction in addition to the concert. The event is open to adults aged 21 and older. One-hundred percent of proceeds from the event will be donated to the Connecticut Food Bank and the Wilton Food Pantry.

Schlesinger said the concert will once again feature Wilton-based artists performing a variety of rock and pop music. The positive response and goal-exceeding amounts raised have proven the event is already becoming a tradition.

“Andy and the Wilton community make this concert an incredible experience,” said Connecticut Food Bank CEO Bernie Beaudreau. “It’s a fun night, with a fulfilling mission helping neighbors in need. We are grateful to the organizers, performers and donors who give so generously.”

Wilton Rocks for Food is Saturday, December 1, at 8:00PM, at the Trackside Teen Center, 15 Station Road in Wilton. Doors will open at 7:00PM. Admission is by pre-purchased ticket only and only to adults aged 21 and older. Information about the event is at www.wiltonrocks.com.
