Wilton Library and WCHN Announce Get Well, Stay Well Series

Alternative and Complementary Medicine: Next Topic in Health Literacy Series presented by Wilton Library and Western Connecticut Health Network        

Alternative and Complementary Medicine will be the next topic in the Health Literacy Series presented by the Wilton Library and Western Connecticut Health Network. This presentation will take place at the Wilton Library on Tuesday, March 5 at 10:00 AM. The featured speaker is Kesav G. Nair, MD, FACP. Dr. Nair is a board-certified medical hematologist/oncologist and senior attending oncologist at the Norwalk Hospital C. Anthony and Jean Whittingham Cancer Center.

Dr. Nair was part of the task force that created the integrative medicine program at Norwalk Hospital. During the presentation, Dr. Nair will discuss integrative medicine, which includes therapies that address a holistic approach to health and healing. He will also discuss the facts and myths of alternative and complementary medicine.

Following the presentation by Dr. Nair, there will be a question and answer session moderated by Saraswathi Nair, MD, former chairman of the Department of Pathology at Norwalk Hospital, and a trustee of the Wilton Library.

About Dr. Kesav G. Nair, MD, FACP

Dr. Nair is a board certified hematologist/oncologist and senior attending physician with Norwalk Hospital. He has been helping patients at Norwalk Hospital for over four decades. Dr. Nair completed his medical degree from Trivandrum Medical College, University of Kerala, Trivandrum, India. He then pursued his medical training at Norwalk Hospital and New York Medical College. He was awarded a Fellowship in Medical Oncology from Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York.

Dr. Nair held additional appointments as clinical instructor of medicine, Yale University School of Medicine; assistant professor of medicine, Section of Hematology and Oncology, Weill Cornell Medical College; and affiliate attending with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Nair’s professional memberships include the Connecticut Oncology Association, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Physicians.
