SOLD OUT! Martha Stewart Visits Wilton Library on Tuesday, March 12

UPDATE: this event is SOLD OUT!

Wilton Library welcomes lifestyle expert Martha Stewart on March 12

She is known as America’s trusted domestic authority, and now she will be intimately known to a Wilton Library audience when “A Conversation with Martha Stewart” takes place at the library on Tuesday, March 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. Martha will talk about her newest book, The Martha Manual: How to Do (Almost) Everything, with her publicist and dear friend, Susan Magrino.

Ms. Stewart has done everything from launch an iconic magazine brand to host her own Emmy-award winning lifestyle show. Most recently, the nation has seen her co-host Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party and appear as a recurring guest judge on Chopped. Stewart has written dozens of bestselling books on cooking, entertaining, and homekeeping, but never has she published a single, career-spanning volume where readers can easily turn for all her essential life tips.

Susan Magrino, a New Canaan resident, is Chairman and CEO of Magrino Public Relations. Her early career was at Crown Publishing, working in the publicity department, where she first met her client Martha Stewart. These were the formative years of Martha Stewart the author, which became Martha Stewart the brand. From book tours, cooking demonstrations, store appearances to television shows, Susan was there from the start managing Martha’s public persona. What began as a business relationship continues to this day but more importantly is a friendship.

Elaine Tai-Lauria, executive director of Wilton Library, remarked on Ms. Stewart’s upcoming visit, “We are thrilled to have Martha Stewart here in conversation with her friend Susan Magrino. Martha is such a well-known figure we just knew our audience would love to see her in person delivering her sage advice.”

The Martha Manual: How to Do (Almost) Everything is the first book to encompass Martha’s lifetime’s expertise in one beautifully illustrated, practical handbook. It is an indispensable guide to doing things the Martha way with hundreds of projects and advice that capture her incomparable taste and guidance. The manual is designed for all readers, regardless of age or stage of life. There is something useful within the pages whether newlyweds, homeowners or first-time apartment renters, recent college grads, empty nesters, freelancers working from home, parents – and even pet parents. Topics in the book include but are not limited to: Organize, Refresh & Embellish, Craft & Create, Host & Entertain, Enjoy, Cook, and Celebrate.

Martha Stewart is an Emmy Award-winning television show host, entrepreneur, bestselling author of over 90 books, and America’s most trusted lifestyle expert and teacher. Millions of people rely on Martha Stewart as a source of useful “how-to” information for all aspects of everyday living - cooking, entertaining, gardening, home renovating, collecting, organizing, crafting, healthy living, holidays, weddings, and pet care.

Lauren McLaughlin, assistant director of Wilton Library and responsible for visiting authors, noted, “With our Innovation Station at Wilton Library, we have so many crafters who are a built-in audience for Ms. Stewart, and we are sure they will eagerly look forward to her visit. Her books are always well received.”
