Miller-Driscoll Kindergarten Orientation Mornings Coming Up

It might still be April, with 39 more days of school before summer, but Miller-Driscoll school is already planning for next year's incoming class of Kindergartners. Kindergarten Orientation Mornings will be held on May 8th and 9th. Wilton public schools extend an invitation to all families of students registered for next year's Kindergarten class to attend.

Kindergarten Orientation day is on May 8th (for last names A-L) and May 9th (for last names M-Z). The orientation will last from 9.30am to 10.45am.

The Orientation is the perfect opportunity to introduce your preschooler to Miller-Driscoll school. The goal of the orientation is to make the transition to kindergarten easier for students and families by giving them a chance to prepare for their unforgettable first day of school.

After checking in, students will visit a kindergarten classroom and meet with kindergarten teachers. They will have the opportunity to meet Principal Kathy Coon and her Administration team; the school guidance counselor Elena White; a school nurse and the PTA president Tammy Thornton.

Families will learn about Miller-Driscoll, a typical day and how to prepare. The school nurse will cover health and allergy information and the PTA will outline of some of the ways it supports the school through programming and events. Parents will receive a school handbook, and information on extended day programs. Principal Coon will share information on mindsets for learning and purposeful play.

After the presentation, parents and children will have the opportunity to take a ride on the school bus around the school loop.

Students must be registered with the district to attend this orientation. Registration can be completed by visiting the Wilton Public School website, completing the online registration form and requesting a registration appointment. Any registration questions or queries can be made by calling Rebecca Kuijstermans at Miller-Driscoll school on (203) 762 8678.
