Woodcock Nature Center's Evening Owl Walk on Saturday, February 26th

Evening Owl Walk at Woodcock Nature Center on Saturday, February 26th from 5:30 - 7:00 pm

This program is in partnership with the Ridgefield Conservation Commission and Woodcock Nature Center.

Join bird enthusiast Tommy McCarthy for an after-dark walk on the trails of Woodcock Nature Center to learn about and listen for some of the eight owl species which can be found in our state.

February is an ideal time to join an owl prowl, as it is during the late winter months that owls become more active and vocal in preparation for the breeding season. We will delve into the lives of these secretive and beautiful animals by learning about the sounds they make, the habitat they prefer, and the signs they leave behind as they hunt, rest and raise their young.

Bring your binoculars if you’d like to test their low-light performance, but they will not be necessary.  You may also bring a light, though we will be trying to let our eyes adjust for the majority of the walk.

This program is free but pre-registration is required as spots are limited. Registration opens on January 28. Register HERE.
