“She Is Rising” Exhibit at The Carriage Barn Arts Center, New Canaan

It’s an exhibit and a benefit for LiveGirl, a nonprofit organization that provides year-round leadership development and mentoring for young girls. It’s “an expression of female power!" This show features a curated selection of artwork in all media and a special installation by featured artist and CAFC member Tara Blackwell. Check out the exhibit and support girl power!

Melody’s Mostly Musical Day at The Greenwich Arts Council

Steinway Artist Jenny Lin brings to life the musical picture book that follows a child’s musical day from breakfast to bedtime, with classical piano works props, and magical storytelling. 

DISASTER, The Musical at Curtain Call, Inc, Stamford

Earthquakes, tidal waves, infernos and the unforgettable songs of the '70s take center stage in Broadway’s side-splitting homage to classic disaster films. Disaster! is a new musical straight from Broadway, featuring some of the most unforgettable songs of the '70s. Book by three-time Emmy Award nominee and SiriusXM Broadway host, Seth Rudetsky, and Jack Plotnick. Runs through 6/18.

The Little Mermen at Greenwich Library

Dress in your Disney best and join the Summer Reading series kick-off with the ultimate Disney rock cover band. The band’s repertoire covers all 82 years of the Disney canon, including favorites from The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, and Frozen. The group performs in full costume with band members dressing up as characters from the films. Register to guarantee a seat for this live event. 

15th Anniversary Summer Party at The Philip Johnson Glass House, New Canaan

Midsummer Night’s Dream & Paquita Ballet at New Canaan High School Theatre

The New England Academy of Dance pre-professional company dancers perform Paquita Variations, a ballet about a gypsy girl who discovers she is actually a kidnapped princess, originally created for the Paris Opera ballet, and A Midsummer Night's Dream, a one-act ballet adapted from Shakespeare’s play. Original and reconstructed choreography by Frances Ortiz, Ted Thomas, and Ginna Ortiz. 

Michael Yamaoka & Oksana Tanasiv Exhibit Opening at Oksana Tanasiv Gallery, Norwalk

Oksana Tanasiv Gallery presents its June guest: Award-Winning Photographer Michael K. Yamaoka, curated by Natasha Kuranko. New works will be on view alongside the internationally-recognized Oksana Tanasiv's Dollar Art series. Lite-fare and drink will be available. Yamaoka, born and educated in Japan, built a successful advertising photography career in NYC working for many Fortune 500 companies before turning to fine art. The tragic loss redirected his focus and he now travels worldwide to shoot photos with themes of solitude, stillness, singularities, and the passage of time. On view through June 25th.
