Vegan Mince Pies Workshop at Wilton Historical Society on Nov. 25

Weekend Workshops – Vegan Mince Pies

A traditional holiday dish in English-speaking countries across the globe, the mince pie is a sweet pie typically filled with fruit and spices. The recipe originated as early as the 13th century and was served by kings and commoners alike. Ingredients have varied over time, influenced by Britain's trade partners throughout history.

On Saturday, November 25, from 11 a.m. to 12 pm, the Wilton Historical Society will hold its very own Vegan Mince Pie-Making Workshop. Museum Educator Catherine Lipper will talk generally about the history of Christmas pies, while participants prepare and bake their own miniature vegan mince pies.

Suggested for ages 6-10. Members: $10 per child; Non-members $15 per child.
