Wilton Gymnasts Shine in Multi-State Competition

Fourteen Wilton Y gymnasts from Levels 5-7 traveled to Glastonbury to compete in their January 11-12 Invitational meet. They joined girls from 13 other teams hailing from gyms in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York, and they showed remarkable success among such a large field.

The Level 5 team earned 3rd place. Individually, Rachel Esslinger took 1st place for vault, 2nd place for beam and 3rd All-Around. Carter Siegel finished 2nd on bars, and Isabel Klink took 3rd place for beam. In the next age group, Alyssa Jarrett finished 2nd place for All-Around and bars, 3rd place on beam and 4th place on vault. Lauren Simone took 1st place on bars (9.0).

Level 6 Marra Woodring finished 2nd All-Around, 1st on Beam (9.25), 1st on vault (9.0) and scored a 9.0 on floor. In the next age group, Catie Jones finished 3rd All-Around and 1st on Beam (9.0), 3rd on bars and 4th on vault.

Level 7 Sam Huffman finished 1st on floor, 2nd on bars, 3rd on vault and 4th All-Around. In the next age group, Alex Uriarte took 2nd on floor, and Sam Farhi joined her on the podium taking 3rd on floor.
