Wilton's 2019 Plan of Conservation and Development Now Available for Public Viewing

The Planning and Zoning Commission approved the 2019 Plan of Conservation and Development on September 23, 2019; setting an effective date of October 1, 2019.

This follows nearly two years of study and review by the Commission.  The adopted plan addresses such topics as demographic trends, fiscal projections, housing needs, natural resource protection and land conservation initiatives as well as community facility needs.  Numerous meetings, workshops, topic surveys and a community poll were conducted in order to identify those matters of community importance.  Many Town boards and commissions, Town administrators and the public participated in the process.

Mandated by Connecticut law, this document serves as a community roadmap for identifying and prioritizing those issues deemed important to the community.  Plan recommendations are used to develop policies aimed at addressing Town needs.

The Cheshire-based firm of Milone and MacBroom, Inc. assisted the Commission in preparing the document.
