Weir Farm extended special thanks to the Friends of Weir Farm for sending out quarters to our volunteers! Pictured is our volunteer Libby with her Weir Farm quarter that she received in the mail!

Historic places also featured on the coin in 2020 include National Park of American Samoa, Salt River Bay National Historic Park and Ecological Preserve (U.S. Virgin Islands), Marsh-Billings Rockefeller National Historic Park (Vermont) and Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve (Kansas).

This reverse (tails) design of the coin portrays an artist, wearing a painter’s smock, painting outside Julian Alden Weir’s studio at Weir Farm. It is inspired by various images of the studio and Weir’s paintings created on the property, as well as descriptions of Weir and his fellow artist’s creative inspiration from the rural environment.

Weir Farm, currently closed due to COVID-19,  is the home and studio of America's beloved Impressionist, J. Alden Weir and is set on 60 picturesque acres.
