Wilton Youth Sports Can Resume in Phase 2, Slated for June 20, Update on Senior Class Photos

Youth sports are able to resume in Phase 2, currently scheduled to begin on June 20th.  We have been in touch with many of the Wilton youth sports organizations.  They are reviewing new guidelines issued by their national and state organizations.  State government is expected to issue guidelines within two weeks.  In Phase 2, we expect field usage will return to normal use, as per our field usage policy.

Parks and Recreation Director Steve Pierce is closely monitoring bookings for tennis courts, the Stadium track and fields.  Over the last 10 days, the track has been nearly fully booked, but plenty of availability has remained for the Stadium turf.

We are making Lilly field available for senior class family photos on the “W”.  Opportunities will be available during both Phase 1 and Phase 2 to allow for families greater than 5 persons.  There are over 300 students in the graduation class.  Allowing for rain dates, photos will occur over a few weeks.  Please watch for further details.

Out of respect for each other, as Americans that care for each other, we need to wearing masks in public when we cannot socially distance.”  Dr. Deborah Birx, Coronavirus Response Coordinator for the White House Coronavirus Task Force
