Wilton Storm Recovery Update: 73% without power, Eversource blocked road crew arrives, WiFi available at Town Hall and WHS Field House

August 7th-Despite yesterday’s angry and frustrating call with the Governor and the Eversource Incident Commander, Eversource’s respond continues to be slow.  73% of Wilton is without power.  The numbers are similar throughout the area, with Weston at 93%, Westport 86%, New Canaan 78% and Ridgefield at 65%.

One critical Eversource blocked road crew arrived this morning and is working to clear roads for which there is no entrance or exit. Another crew is working to restore power in Wilton Center.  Town DPW personnel are assisting the blocked road crew. Remaining DPW and Parks and grounds personnel continue to clear trees and debris.

Eversource issued a global restoration announcement indicating they expected to have 99% of all power across the State restored by Tuesday at 11:59 p.m.  Yesterday during the day, some of you received erroneous estimated time to restore emails.  The promised ETR emails for last night do not appear to have been sent.  We have no further information.

We continue to push for more crews and better communication.  We understand everyone’s frustration and are working hard to do all that we can.
