The Painted Cookie plays sweet role in Netflix feature film The Noel Diary

Susan Schmitt, the owner of Wilton's Painted Cookie, known throughout Fairfield County (and beyond) as Connecticut's 100% nut and sesame-free cookie shop, took to Facebook to share some exciting news! Schmitt says that last month, she met with the Prop Manager for Netflix's newest Christmas movie "The Noel Diary". The movie, starring Justin Hartley, is currently being filmed in Stamford.

"We chatted about Christmas cookies for a couple of scenes in the movie," explains Schmitt.

Schmitt, who expanded her store during COVID to include a new shipping department and a larger kitchen, said that she received a call on Friday afternoon for an early Saturday morning pickup. The fast-turnaround order? Not graduation or Father's Day themed cookies but Gingerbread men and sugared stars, Christmas trees and stockings! Yup! The Painted Cookie will play a sweet role in Netflix feature film, "The Noel Diary"!

"They were used in a scene yesterday with Bonnie Bedelia serving Christmas cookies," said Schmitt who added, "Wonder if Justin Hartley likes Gingerbread?"
