My tasting notes: Can you say SMOOTH? This cab is all about it and I'm crazy for it! Deep ruby with hints of inky blue (thanks Petit Verdot!). Dry and full bodied. Black currant, black pepper, spearmint, smoky wood plank and yes, bacon. Nicely balanced- concentrated tannins play with medium-high acidity. This makes this wine the perfect food wine. Pair with a Greek style rack of lamb (rubbed with extra virgin olive oil, rosemary and mint), stuffed pizza portobello mushrooms (mozzarella, san marzano tomato sauce, fresh oregano), pork tenderlon with dijon mustard seeds, or plain old wood/charcoal grilled meats. Delicious indeed.
