Ridgefield + Wilton Magazine to Release New Branding and Design in January

Starting in January, residents will see a very different magazine in their mailboxes. Changes are coming to the Ridgefield + Wilton Magazines that has been distributed every two months.

The magazine recently went through a transition to a new owner, Dee Dee Colabella of Colabella Media LLC, who is also the founder of RPAC Art Center and Academy, RPAC Gallery, and ArtFul Visual Arts Initiative. After the transition in July, the remaining two issues of the year still showed the same content style and design that were characteristic of the magazine under the previous owner, Amanda Duff. The team at Colabella Media LLC chose the content for the Nov/Dec issue, but the templates, design, paper, and dimensions stayed the same.

“We also heard a lot of feedback that the format of having two separate magazines, Ridgefield Magazine and Wilton Magazine, wasn’t working,” said Colabella. “This new and exciting expansion includes captivating editorial content that focuses on our Ridgefield and Wilton roots. We wanted to merge the magazine and give coverage to the whole area, not limited to only Ridgefield or only Wilton because this whole region has a lot to offer.”

The goal was to come up with a name for one magazine that would be relevant to several towns, including Ridgefield, Wilton, Redding, Danbury, and more. The result was the new name of 068 Magazine, 068 being the first three digits of the local zip code. This concise name allows for broad coverage, as well as the future expansion of distribution.

The design has also changed. The magazine is a full inch wider, with thicker paper stock. This in combination with almost double the amount of pages since the transition in July will make for a more substantial and content-driven publication.

Inside the pages, publisher and award-winning designer Greg Mursko has designed an elegant template with quality in mind. “The features are always freedom,” he said. “The middle of the book will always have eye-catching features, and designing and taking photos for these stories gives us a chance to explore the creativity and fun that comes with putting the magazine together. That’s one thing I think makes us successful with each issue; having fun with it.”

The stories inside the 068 Magazine represent the culture of the area. “For those that have been here a long time, I hope readers can maintain an appreciation of this area and perhaps even discover something new,” said Editor-in-Chief Dylan Miller. “I’m beyond thrilled to work with talented writers and meet explore the area with each issue. I’m truly blown away at every turn, and I’m sure I’ll never stop learning.”

Stories explore community members, music, arts, food, family activities, quirks, local businesses and entrepreneurs with the goal of lifting the community up for all to see as a way of saying “hey, look what we’ve built here!”

The team at Colabella Media LLC are excited for 2022 and wish everyone a Happy New Year.

“We hope for a healthy and prosperous year for everyone, we’ll be with you every step of the way,” said Colabella.
