Library to honor Wilton residents Carol and Bob Russell as honorary chairs for 2018 Spring Benefit

Couple to be honored at Wilton Library’s Spring Benefit on Saturday, March 17, 2018

Bob and Carol Russell have been named honorary chairs for Wilton Library’s Spring Benefit set for Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Silver Spring Country Club at 6:30 p.m.

The couple is being recognized for their unwavering support of the library, as well as the continued stewardship of the town of Wilton in which they have worked in countless capacities.  From serving on the library’s board of trustees to their active involvement with the library book sales, to support of the capital campaign for the new building, the Russells have been intertwined in the fabric of the library. Between them, this couple has probably done more to honor and preserve Wilton’s history than anyone else in town.

Bob, a former First Selectman, research and wrote the first comprehensive history of Wilton, published in 2004.  Carol has served as town historian heading up the library’s Wilton History Room, was named Tree Warden for 2016 and served on Wilton Planning and Zoning and Conservation Commissions.

Tickets for the library’s benefit will go on sale in February.

Information will be available on the library’s website at www.wiltonlibrary.org. For more information about the benefit including sponsorships, contact Robin Axness, director of development for Wilton Library at raxness@wiltonlibrary.org, 203-762-6323.
