Middlebrook 7th grader Lukas Koutsoukos, one of the top geography students in Connecticut, recently competed in the 30th Annual Connecticut Geography Bee sponsored by the National Geographic Society. Lukas placed third - making his school, community, and state very proud!

The event was held at Central Connecticut State University on Friday, April 6. Competition moderator was Connecticut meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan.

Each year thousands of schools in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. The contest is designed to encourage teachers to include geography in their classrooms, spark student interest in the subject, and increase public awareness about geography.
