In her most recent community update (last night) First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice reported that Wilton had one more COVID case. She also made mention of the CT DPH COVID-19 alert for Danbury, noting 178 newly reported cases between August 2nd and 20th versus 40 in the previous two week period. " 83 new cases were reported in Danbury, almost half the number of cases in the previous two weeks!" she said.
Yesterday, Danbury’s Superintendent of Schools announced all Danbury schools will open remotely. Last week, Danbury youth sports programs were suspended. "Wilton residents are encouraged to exercise extra caution if required to travel to Danbury," said Vanderslice.
Wilton and other neighboring communities are also experiencing disturbing growth in their 6-day average daily case rate. Wilton’s, Westport’s and Ridgefield’s was double the 31-day rate. Weston’s was triple the 31-day rate.

Vanderslice said, "Wilton can be the leader in flipping this area trend. As a community, we have been doing a great job throughout the pandemic. Let’s reset. Let’s look towards September with a new resolve to do all we can do to minimize the spread."
- Wear a mask whenever you are not able to maintain 6 feet of distance-period, unless you have a verifiable medical reason.
- Avoid crowds.
- Avoid affected areas. If you must travel to and from an affected state or Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands, self-quarantine for the required number of days and complete the necessary travel advisory form.
