Wilton September 11th remembrance ceremony via social media due to ongoing health concerns

This year’s September 11th remembrance will not take place in-person.  Instead, Wilton Fire Fighters IAFF Local 2233 announced the remembrance of the day, our local residents and first responders will occur over social media.

"State and local rules and policies have been instituted to protect the community and our essential services. Assembling to honor the victims of the September 11 attaches poses a risk to our community and essential services that should not be underestimated," Dave Chaloux, President of Wilton Fire Fighters Local 2233, IAFF, explains.

Despite this challenge, Chaloux says that Local 2233 will still be remembering the events of September 11, 2001 and honoring the sacrifices of our citizens and responders through their social media pages.

Please visit www.wiltonfirefighters.org or Facebook at Wilton Firefighters-Local 2233.

"Please keep the thousands of victims and their families, including Wilton residents John Henwood, John Iskyan, Edward Fergus, Peter Fry, Edward York, as well as the FDNY, NYPD, NYC EMS personnel who lost their lives. And... Never Forget," says Chaloux.

Further information is available on their website.
