Is there an organization in town that makes you feel good?
There are so many worthwhile and inspirational organizations in Wilton but I would have to say that my heart belongs to the Wilton Library Association. The library, which has been around for an impressive 125 years, serves as the cultural hub of our community. They collaborate creatively with many other local non-profits such as the Wilton Historical Society, the Weir Farm Art Alliance, and the Wilton Senior Center to name just a few. And the library is so much more than just books and Blu Rays. You can listen to world-class jazz at the Hot & Cool Jazz series; attend readings by best-selling authors like Ann Patchett, Wally Lamb, Terry McMillan and Nelson DeMille; meet celebrities like Martha Stewart and Hoda Kotb, and watch curated films followed by thought-provoking discussions. There are stimulating and imaginative programs available for Wiltonians of any age.

The extraordinary number of talented individuals who live in Wilton—inventors, cartoonists, designers, painters, musicians, fashionistas, authors, furniture makers, singers, ballet dancers, actors, and screenwriters. During my six-year tenure as editor of Wilton Magazine I had the opportunity to meet and profile so many gifted artists. It’s both inspiring and humbling.
How does creativity connect you to Wilton?
My home office overlooks our large backyard, which is bordered by century-old stone walls and a small forest. Every day I sit at my desk and see the seasons change through the window and get to watch nature’s beauty pageant. There is such a diverse array of wildlife! Over the years I’ve seen rabbits, foxes, coyotes, a baby bobcat, red-tailed hawks, blue jays, cardinals, goldfinches, hummingbirds, butterflies, an endless chorus line of wild turkeys, lost dogs, a snowy Arctic owl, and of course, the ubiquitous herds of deer who traverse our lawn every day. The peace and tranquility I find here in Wilton quiets my mind and nourishes my creativity. The environment helps me move forward with my projects, whether I’m writing a screenplay, drafting a monologue, doing pre-production for a film, or planning a festival event for RIFF. I’m so grateful to be here.
