Report on Wilton High School COVID-19 Outbreak

The following report is provided by Wilton Health Director Barry Bogle regarding the Wilton Health Department’s investigation of the recent COVID-19 outbreak among Wilton High School students.

On January 20, 2021, contact tracing began with two confirmed cases of COVID-19 associated with gatherings over the weekend of January 15, 2021.

The current known outcomes are as follows:

  • 14 attendees confirmed positive and currently under isolation.
  • 6 persons, who did not attend, but had direct contact with attendees,  confirmed positive and also under isolation.
  • 3 attendees under quarantine pending test results.

In total, 20 known confirmed positive cases associated with the weekend gatherings, with 3 tests pending.

Contact tracing continues for those persons that were in close contact to a positive attendee, who was at school on Tuesday, January 20, 2021.  Wilton High School remains closed as we continue contact tracing.

The previously issued request that Wilton High School teachers and students remain home is rescinded.  Non-impacted Wilton High School teachers and students may return to normal activity, except for attending school, and are asked to continue to monitor their status for the next four days.
