Creativity Connects Wilton: Meet Magdalen Livesey, President Candlelight Concerts, Member of Wilton Treblemakers

Creativity Connects Wilton, made possible by LIFEWTR

What fuels a vibrant, connected and creative community? What makes people feel good about living in Wilton?

When locals share the creativity that they uncover in the nooks and crannies of their community it brings about connectivity and makes us all feel good.

Believe it or not, you discover creativity every day as you walk, shop, work, and play in Wilton.

Creativity connects us.

Meet Magdalen Livesey longtime Wiltonian, freelance editor, president of Wilton Candlelight Concerts, and member of Wilton Treblemakers.

Is there a person or organization using creativity to provoke change in Wilton?

Certainly!  The Wilton Library is the home and source of so much creative opportunity in town.  From the lecture series to music events to research capacity to children’s services to community outreach, the Library can and does do it all.  The learning that is fostered there is a positive force for action both within our community and out to the wider world.

Is there an organization in town that makes you feel good?

The Wilton Treblemakers, of which I am a proud member, is the ultimate feel-good group.  A sisterhood of women who love to sing – and who, by the way, also dance to our up-tempo numbers – we perform at senior centers, nursing homes, and assisted living centers.   We get so much joy and bring so much joy – it’s contagious!

How does creativity connect you to Wilton?

Music is a creative outlet that’s very important in my life.  For over 70 years, Wilton Candlelight Concerts have been bringing top-quality chamber music to our town.  Sadly, Margaret Gregory, the guiding force behind these programs, died last year at 99.  But I’m proud to be part of keeping her legacy alive by continuing to present live music events in Wilton – as soon as gatherings are safe and permitted.

Creativity Connects Wilton is made possible by LIFEWTR.
