Wilton Community Update: 1.49% Mill Rate Increase, Thursday COVID Vaccine and Case Data

Last Tuesday evening, the Board of Finance voted to recommend to the Annual Town Meeting a mill rate of 27.8685, which is 1.49% greater than the FY2021 mill rate and 1.17% less than the FY2020 mill rate.  The Annual Town Meeting will be held on Saturday, May 8th at 3:00pm at the Clune Center Auditorium.  Qualified residents must be present to speak.  The meeting will also be broadcast live on Zoom.  The ballot vote will take place on Saturday, May 15th from 9:00am to 6:00pm in the lobby of the Clune Center. 

Vaccine & Case Information

As of last Thursday, April 8th, CT DPH reported 9,605 Wilton residents had received at least one dose of the vaccine.  This represents 52% of all residents and 73% of Wilton residents aged 18 and up.  

As of today, 52% of Connecticut adult residents have received at least one dose. 

On Thursday, Wilton’s Health Department is holding another second dose vaccine clinic at WEPCO.

The following is data, as of 8:30 p.m. Sunday night, from Monday’s CT DPH report versus Friday’s report.   Wilton’s 7-day average of 3.5 cases per day was about equal to the prior week.  The 3 new cases reported for the weekend is much lower than recent weekend case counts.
