Wilton First Responders Celebrate Raksha Bandhan, Universal Oneness Day, and Bond of Protection

Wilton First Responders Celebrate Raksha Bandhan with Volunteers of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA

In honor of Universal Oneness Day, Raksha Bandhan, the popular Hindu holiday, the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) joined forces with members of the Wilton Fire and Police Departments and EMS to share the "bond of protection". Also present at the event was State Senator, Will Haskell.

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), a U.S.-based organization, since its inception in 1989, celebrates this festival at a broader societal level. HSS calls it Universal Oneness Day.

According to HSS philosophy, Raksha Bandhan reminds each individual that she/he is responsible for protecting society and the world. HSS volunteers promise to help the community by reaching out to the local first responders. In addition to Wilton first responders, members of HSS also visited neighboring towns.

HSS is a voluntary, non-profit, social and cultural organization dedicated to preserving our cultural roots in society. HSS runs programs
for kids and parents that focus on integral personality development (physical, intellectual, social and spiritual). HSS has over 150+ chapters across the US.
