
INTEMPO is pleased to announce the appointment of 11 members to its Board of Directors, including former INTEMPO Chairman Dr. Lisa Petno of New Canaan who has renewed her active involvement with the organization. Joining seven veteran members, the expanded Board of Directors will help guide INTEMPO through its next phase of growth.
INTEMPO offers high-quality classical and intercultural music education that reflects the diversity of its students and that helps children express themselves artistically and build skills that will serve them in every aspect of their lives. Children across Fairfield County participate in INTEMPO’s flagship music school, in-school music programs, summer camp, academic and youth-development services, concerts and community engagements.
The new members of INTEMPO’s Board of Directors include:
- Bill Avery (New Canaan), community volunteer and former business executive
- E. Garrett Bewkes (Stamford), National Review
- Emmanuel “Manny” Doreste (Stamford), Ferguson Library and INTEMPO parent
- Chris Fountain (Stamford), Stamford Department of Health
- Ellen “Ellie” Isidro (Riverside), community volunteer and former nonprofit executive director
- Kwabena McPhee-Djan (Pound Ridge), Royal Bank of Canada
- Ellen Mellis (Stamford), community volunteer
- Gabriela “Gaby” Rivera (Shelton), Durango Insurance & Financial Services
- Lisa Stuart (Wilton), Development consultant
- Jim Venetos (Darien), JP Morgan Wealth Management
Continuing in their current capacity on INTEMPO’s board are José Feliciano (Chairman), Claudia Ahumada, Carmen Domonkos, Whitney Fabré, Nancy Gramps. Elizabeth Joseph, and Paola Marquez-Smith.
“I’d like to also express our gratitude to Bonnie Currie and Evan Koster who have concluded their service as valued board members. We wish them both the best and are grateful to have their ongoing support,” Durrell adds. Through the ProBono Partnership program, Koster volunteered his legal services to INTEMPO. Currie actively volunteered at INTEMPO, spending countless hours tutoring and guiding students, and has been a devoted concert attendee and promoter of the program throughout the community.
