ACT of CT's production of GUYS AND DOLLS is all aces and on stage now!

Be careful what you wish for: sometimes when you lose, you ultimately win.

GUYS AND DOLLS is the first old-world-style musical comedy performed at ACT of CT and their largest production to date with 24 actors on stage and 11 musicians.

“I really felt this was the perfect show to start our 5th season.” -ACT of CT Artistic Director Levine.

In this superb production, Levine has found the perfect balance of nuance and intimacy set against the backdrop of a big splashy production. From the moment the show begins (and without giving too much away), Levine magically transports us back to New York City in the 1940s and takes the audience on an epic journey.

We are introduced to a diverse cast of characters in New York City’s bustling Broadway: swanky gamblers, sassy showgirls, and moralist missionaries on a quest to save souls, all brought to life by ACT’s star-studded performers.

We meet Nathan Detroit (Phil Sloves), a bigger-than-life character with a stellar reputation for providing a safe place for illegal gambling. However, he finds himself in a jam and is forced to make a bet. For a whopping 14 years, he’s been engaged to Hot Box Club performer, Miss Adelaide (Donna Vivino) but can’t seem to commit. The sassy (and hysterically funny) Miss Adelaide is losing patience.

The pure-of-heart Sarah Brown (Katherine Riddle) and her evangelical Save-a-Soul Missionary team abhor gambling and want to change the trajectory of the evil-doers' lives. She meets the most compulsive high roller of them all - the slick, soft-talker, and oh-so charismatic, Sky Masterson (Matt Faucher) and finds herself lucky in love.

The gamblers ultimately discover that when by losing they ultimately win.

Together, the star-studded cast creates magic on the stage! With mesmerizing choreography by the talented Sara Brians and wildly vibrant costumes, they bring much-needed laugh-out-loud humor and belt out scores of iconic toe-tapping songs including "Luck Be a Lady", "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat", and “I’ve Never Been In Love Before”.

Yes, GUYS AND DOLLS is indeed all aces.
