Friday, Nov. 10 Talk and Book Signing with Alan Schwarz, Author of ADHD Nation, 10 – 11:30 a.m. Alan Schwarz will present and sign copies of his highly acclaimed book ADHD Nation. In addition, Anita Chu, MD, Medical Director of Insight Counseling and Elizabeth Jorgensen, consultant to Newport Academy and Director of Insight Counseling will lead a panel discussion on the issue of proper diagnosis of ADHD and other mental health disorders as well as the safe and empirically-based use of medications. Saturday, Nov. 11 New Perspectives Film Series—The First Monday in May, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. Fashion and art come together in The First Monday in May, which follows the creation of 'China: Through the Looking Glass,' the most attended fashion exhibition in the history of The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the 2015 Met Gala, the star-studded fundraiser. Follow Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine and Met Gala chair, Andrew Bolton, the curator who conceived the groundbreaking show, as they prepare for an unforgettable evening. Following the film will be two special guest moderators, both fashion industry insiders, Jean Gordon of Jean Gordon Style and Stacy Holmen of Worth New York. Nominated for Best Documentary Feature Film—Edinburgh International Film Festival 2016. Suggested donation: $5. Refreshments served.
