Northeast Volleyball Club Opens Facility at Four Seasons Racquet Club in Wilton

Northeast Volleyball Club has created the only dedicated volleyball facility in Fairfield County - bringing year-round Clinics and Club Volleyball to the area!

Northeast Volleyball Club is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Four Seasons Racquet Club in Wilton, CT, where they have built three (3) year-round indoor volleyball courts within their beautiful facility, offering Clinics, Skills Training, and Club Volleyball for Elementary through High-School students. With this partnership, Northeast Volleyball Club is poised to make a huge impact in the community by creating the only dedicated volleyball facility in Fairfield County, CT, and allowing athletes all the time they deserve on the court... without interruptions or double-bookings!

“Because many public middle schools in Fairfield County don’t have volleyball teams, girls and boys often don’t start playing the sport until high school, and are then disadvantaged when trying to compete at a higher level or seek college recruitment opportunities”, stated Garrett Minyard, Club Co-Director. “If you want to develop a volleyball culture, you have to start it young; you need to introduce the sport to athletes at 11, 12, or even earlier.” said Minyard. “Our goal is to grow the sport of volleyball in the Northeast region by training young athletes year-round in a positive and growth-oriented environment. Volleyball has taken us all over the world, and we want to instill that same lifelong love for the game in our athletes and show them just how far this sport can take them.”

Northeast Volleyball Club was started by husband and wife team Garrett and Cat Minyard. Coach Garrett has been coaching volleyball for over 10 years, including recently coaching professional teams in the U.K. and Italy to national championships. Garrett also played Division I volleyball at Sacred Heart University where he was Team Captain for two years. Coach Cat played Division I Volleyball at Cal Berkeley and Yale, earning a trip to the NCAA Final Four in 2007 and an Ivy League Title and MVP in 2008, before playing professionally overseas. Cat is now on the coaching staff at Yale and is the co-director of Northeast Volleyball Club. “Volleyball is more than just a game to us.” stated Cat Minyard, “It is both our profession and our passion. As former college and pro athletes, we will lead Northeast Volleyball Club with the professionalism our community deserves. Every detail of our program, down to the material of the uniforms, has been created thoughtfully with the volleyball athlete in mind.”

Starting this Fall, Northeast Volleyball will offer competitive Club Team programs at their new Wilton facility.  Club Tryouts for athletes ages 9-18 begin November 10 and run through November 19.  Details on tryouts and registration can be found on the website www.northeastvbc.com.  In addition, Fall/Winter Volleyball Clinics for Elementary, Middle and High School students will kick off in early December, and Adult Leagues, Summer Camps, and Court Rentals will begin in the New Year. They also offer Strength & Conditioning training for their athletes with their fitness partner Upper Deck Fitness!
