Three questions with Jodi O'Connell, owner of Classic Cleaners.
Why did you start your business?
Classic Cleaners is a family owned and operated cleaners since 1972! Originally my dad opened it but passed away suddenly in 1974 so my mom took over and was a self-taught dry cleaner/business owner. I am the second generation of dry cleaners as my husband Dennis and I took over ownership in 1993. We have expanded our physical store to accommodate an in-house tailor and a laundry department and we do all our own eco- friendly dry cleaning and laundered shirts on the premises.
Best selling product/service?
We have many “best” services. People love our free pick up and delivery service. They love the convenience of having us come to them. Our customers also love our in-house tailoring service. You can come in and put on your item and have one on one time with the tailor to get the exact look you want. Whether it’s a pair of pants or a prom dress we provide great workmanship. Our customers also love our customer service from our skilled staff. We have built our business around providing exceptional service. Most of our employees have been with us for many years and they get to know our customers and build a rapport.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business and can you name them?
We use many of the local business’ in our area. Caraluzzi’s is a go-to for cake to celebrate an employee’s birthday or just to get lunch or drinks. It’s wonderful having them in the shopping center. We also support Heibeck Motors across the street, as well as Ace Tire up the street to keep our work vehicles in tip-top shape. We rely on Keough Hardware for parts for many of our repairs and maintenance. We must also mention Casey Energy as they provide us our oil as well as expert repair service.
