Why did you start your business?
I opened my studio The Pilates Advantage in 2007. I had been teaching and studying all types of fitness since 1980 and had started my Pilates journey in 1999. It became my passion! In 2007 it was time for me to share my passion for Pilates and skill set for a healthy workout experience to a new area. I had lived in Wilton since 1989 and had been teaching in various gyms mainly in Ridgefield but throughout Fairfield County for 27 years and wanted to expand the Pilates Method to a new area. At that time there were studios in Norwalk, Ridgefield, and Westport so the Wilton/Redding/Weston and Georgetown area was a logical fit. My youngest son was getting ready to go to college and this was a way for me to earn more income to prepare for his college expenses.
Best selling product or service?
At The Pilates Advantage, we offer a full schedule Pilates Classes on the Pilates Apparatus (equipment) as well as Pilates Fusion Classes in a 2nd Studio. We have 33 Classes in total. They are all small Groups 4 for the machines and 6 Max in our Mat and Pilates Fusion Classes however, our biggest selling service is Private One on One Sessions. During each session the focus on the individual. During the workout out you will learn about yourself and how you move. It is self-education. There is no mistake why our bodies feel, look and move the way they do as we age. In our private sessions, clients learn how to stop compensating movement patterns and move with grace, ease to keep their bodies moving in a healthy way with less pain and stiffness.
How many people do you employ?
I currently have 4 amazing instructors plus myself working at the studio. I am currently expanding and always looking for more instructors who share our love for Pilates!

We recommend Kim and Aroma Spa to clients who need massage therapy. Kim is very intuitive and gifted and has been a big help to our clients who need her services. I would also like to tag Belden Botanics and the owner Michele Mottola Klink. She is an amazing floral designer and does all of our arrangements for our studio outside and in as well as our special events!
