Wilton's Ambler Farm Announces March Programs: Youth Apprentice Program and Home Garden Workshop

Registration is NOW OPEN for two spring programs at Ambler Farm!

Youth Apprentice Program Open House: March 16th at 3:00pm

This unique six-month program (May-October) is for students currently in grades 5-11. We are only accepting new apprentices in grades 5-8. Apprentices meet several times a week to plant, maintain and harvest the farm’s educational gardens and work with Farmer Jonathan in the production gardens. They also care for our rabbits, pigs, goats, sheep and chickens. Apprentices work collaboratively to assist in all aspects of the farm including teaching younger children about farm activities.

This is an extraordinary hands-on program. Parents and prospective apprentices must attend one open house on either March 9th or March 16th. The purpose of the open house is to help prospective apprentices understand the nature of and the expectations for the program to ensure it is a good fit. If a child is not able to attend either open house, a separate meeting must be scheduled with Kevin Meehan by March 24th. This is the deadline for new apprentices to express interest in the program. Contact Jennifer Grass at jennifer@amblerfarm.org for more information.

Cost: $500 per Member Child, $600 per Non-Member Child
