Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story.

You're IT Judith Woolf Acupuncture!

Three questions with Judith A. Woolf, M.Ac. L.Ac. Dipl.Ac. owner of Judith Woolf Acupuncture.

Why did you start your business?

Many years ago, I had an injury to my back and I tried many conventional forms of medicine without much luck. A friend suggested that I try acupuncture. Although I was quite skeptical, I was willing to try anything. The rest is history. After a few appointments, I was doing much better and several years later, I was back in school. Being the daughter of a doctor and a nurse, caring and helping others was an easy path for me to follow.

Finish this sentence in regard to your business: I wish I could...

I wish I could start a health fair/free clinic each year for those less fortunate in our area to try some alternative medicines. Local healthcare workers would hopefully donate their time and people in our area would learn about alternatives that give them a new path to healing.

Best selling product or service?

My practice is mainly acupuncture. However, I do offer many other modalities such as Cupping, (remember Michael Phelps with the purple spots) I also offer Gua sha (it is massage therapy for the muscles and tissues), Moxibustion, wellness coaching, and herbal therapies.
