Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT College Creamery!

Three questions with Jack Lewis, owner of College Creamery!

College Creamery is an entirely student-run ice cream truck business out of Wilton, Connecticut, driving a restored and hand-painted 1977 Chevy. The original owners opened for business during the spring of 2011. We acquired the business, spring of 2015.

Best selling product?

Definitely Tiger's Blood Shaved Ice.  Second would be Blue Raspberry Shaved Ice

Finish this sentence in regard to your business: I wish I could...

I wish I could expand my business by buying more ice cream trucks.

How many people do you employ? Any locals?

I own the business outright so I do most of the events. My mom does the bookkeeping and most of the scheduling. For larger events, I recruit some of my friends who also graduated last year from Wilton High School.
