Wilton Family YMCA Dual Campaign Launch Party on Thursday

Launch Party of our Capital Public Phase & Annual Campaigns

The Wilton Family YMCA is inviting the community to celebrate the dual launch of the Building New Stories Captial Public Phase and the Annual Campaign with a launch party on Thursday, September 26, 2019, from 4-5 PM at 404 Danbury Road, Wilton. All community members are invited.

Complimentary food trucks will be on-site offering various treats. Seaside Sliders will be serving a yummy pretzel bar with a choice of toppings, their signature tater tots and an ice cream bar. The Frosty Bear will be dishing up delicious hot dogs and chips. The event will also feature strolling magician Steve Dane, who will amaze you with various feats of magic. There will also be games and a short update on the progress of the renovations.

The Y’s Annual Campaign raises funds that all go to support the Y’s Financial Aid Programs. This ensures access for all and that no one is ever turned away. This critical annual effort is dedicated to strengthening our community. 1 in 10 children, adults and families enrolled in YMCA programs participate in our financial aid program. Our Annual Campaign dollars are at work every day, providing those who need it access to important programs that sustain healthy mind, bodies, and spirits.

Renovation on the building started in February and has seen substantial progress over the last few months including work on the new modernized locker rooms, the addition of three new universal locker rooms, adding the frame for the second-floor fitness center, expanding the lobby, and renovating the new location for the Kids Club babysitting room.

“We're excited about the construction progress thus far and want to share our excitement with the community at large, members and non-members of our YMCA. We appreciate the outstanding work being completed by Turner and our sub-contractors,” said Robert C.McDowell, CEO of the Riverbrook Regional YMCA.

“We can't wait for the building to be completed in the fall of 2019, and we look forward to expanding our impact on strengthening the well-being and health of our community," he added.

Over the next few months, construction will continue with the new drop off zone, walking path from the bridge to the main entrance of the YMCA building and a new bubble, pool filtration and water heat exchanger, and moveable bulkhead for the 50-meter Melissa and Mark Nickel Memorial Pool.

No RSVP is required, the event is open and free to all community members.
