Now through Jan. 2 A Harvest of Hues Art Exhibition A collection of 8 local area artists are showcased in Wilton Library’s November/December art exhibition, “A Harvest of Hues.” The artists are The artists are: Randi Jane Davis, Ridgefield; Drew Lambert, Wilton; Cynthia Mullins, Ridgefield; Kelly Rossetti, Westport; Dennis Stevens, Norwalk; Trish Wend, Ridgefield; Susan Acker Yun, Westport, formerly Wilton. Their works represent a wide variety of styles, media and subject matter choices. Exhibition runs through January 2, 2020. Sunday, Dec. 1 and Monday, Dec. 2 How Sweet It Is in Wilton – Gingerbread House Contest Wilton Library and the Wilton Chamber of Commerce invite individuals, families, groups, organizations and businesses to submit gingerbread or other edible models of Wilton houses or buildings to be put on display in the library. Drop off dates and times for the creations are Sunday, Dec. 1, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Entries will be judged in two age groups by prominent community members. The groups are 12 and under; and ages 13 to adult. This year, in conjunction with Wilton Library’s 125th anniversary, we are celebrating the past, present and future of Wilton. Residents are encouraged to create an edible model of a house, building, public space or any other aspect of Wilton to represent the town’s past, present and imagined future. Winners will be judged in three categories – most whimsical, best historical Wilton place, and most visionary design of a Wilton place. From Dec. 3 through Dec. 16, visitors to the library also can vote for their favorite models. Winners will be announced December 18 at 4 p.m. Winning submissions including the Community Favorite will be awarded Wilton Chamber gift certificates courtesy of Fairfield County Bank. Sunday, Dec. 1 through Monday, Dec. 30 December Paper Chains For the month of December, kids from Pre-K to Grades 5 can come to Wilton Library and make a colorful paper chain during regular library hours. There will be colored paper strips and trimming available for Hanukkah, Christmas, Rainbow, Kwanzaa and Yule. The chains will be hung around the Children's Library to brighten up the month of December. No registration required. Mondays, Dec. 2, 9 & 16 Rockin' Rhythms, 11:15 – 11:45 a.m. Rockin' Rhythms is Ray’s way (of Jay and Ray) of continuing to develop and give children a unique and awesome experience with music during their preschool years. Music helps children develop and excel in so many ways, not only academically but also socially and behaviorally as well. We also want parents, grandparents, and caregivers to enjoy this experience as much as the children will. Wilton Library's Holiday Book Sale in the gallery is a seasonal delight where bargains can be found featuring a large array of pristine books for all ages, DVDs, and CDs.
