Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Price Financial Group!

Three questions with Karra DeBowes, Branch Operations Manager at Price Financial Group.

Why did you start your business?

Our firm was founded over 35 years ago to provide warm, caring service for clients in need of financial advice. We wanted to create an environment that fostered education, planning, and solid investment principles in a way that was easily accessible to our clients. Today, we are grateful to have been part of the community for so long and to have connected with so many wonderful clients from Wilton and the surrounding area.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

We often host events at different restaurants in the area, and get catering from Wilton Pizza or Pinocchios, we have been grateful for the lovely gifts for our clients from the Painted Cookie, and our advisors love Soul Tribe Yoga in the center of Wilton and Tusk and Cup for coffee. Working in Wilton has also afforded our employees with opportunities to shop in downtown Wilton and dine at some of our favorite places, like the Schoolhouse.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

2020 has ushered in a year of change. We have been able to work remotely, which has certainly reimagined our space. As a result, we relocated our office to the center of Wilton and are looking forward to walking to the different small businesses from our new space. We have also reimagined our client experience, often meeting with clients via zoom, and finding ways to safely connect with each other. 2020 has highlighted the importance of community to us, and in 2021 we are excited to connect more, support our Wilton community, and continue to give back.

Price Financial Group and Karra DeBowes nominate The Painted Cookie - "One of our favorite local Wilton businesses!"
