Why did you start your business?
When I learned what a court reporter really was, it intrigued me that a human could literally process and takedown verbatim testimony onto a steno machine and produce a written transcript. And then once I went to visit a court reporting school’s open house, I was hooked. On top of that, I had a mentor who I looked up to and was with me every step of the way until I graduated. Having my court reporting firm allows me to carry out my passion and do what I enjoy doing every day.
What is the best selling product/service?
The most recent one is being able to conduct depositions remotely for law firms. The parties can be at all different locations now. We were able to perfect this, and I have an incredibly awesome team.
Yes, I believe in helping our local vendors/businesses as often as possible. That is always at the forefront of my mind. I take that very seriously.
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
Without a doubt. The global pandemic has made us pivot and adapt, which we have done successfully, and my court reporting firm is better for it. We’ve learned problems and crisis allows you to grow and be a forward thinker.
