This Friday, May 7th at 11AM local children and families for a Festival of Flowers, parade, and dancing and singing around the MayPole to celebrate the joys of spring and the season of light, warmth and growth at Apple Blossom Waldorf School and Family Center.
The Apple Blossom Waldorf School and Family Center celebrates May Day every year, but THIS year we are celebrating at our brand new and expanded location in Wilton. We want families to KNOW that we are here, and we are not just a school but we are the VILLAGE every young family needs to feel supported and surrounded by community. In a world that was totally isolated last year, young families and their children have suffered the most. We want these families to know we are here, they are not alone, and they can access support in parenting education, childcare, community, and more with us.
Now in our 17th year, the Apple Blossom Waldorf School and Family Center serves the WHOLE family and children ages 0 to 7. We are a lovely piece of heaven in a bustling world where the innocence and magic of childhood is protected and families are uplifted. We offer Parent & Child Classes, Infant Care, Nursery, and Kindergarten Programs, as well as a summer program, all inspired by the teachings and pedagogy of Rudolph Steiner and Waldorf Education.
From cutting vegetables for Tuesday’s soup or kneading bread dough for bread day, children delight in mastering independence at the same time as developing their senses and coordination. Painting, woodworking, handiwork, and gardening are weekly activities that nurture the creative ability of the children and promote endless opportunities for intellectual and physical development. The skills learned at this time make up the essential foundation for academic mastery in the future.
