Having been in the construction industry for over 20 years running Country Club Homes, Carolyn Wheeler, along with her brother, Walter Cromwell recognized a need for a reliable business that helped people manage all the issues and maintenance needs that arise with their homes and properties throughout the year.
Why did you start your business?
We started TotalCare 10 years ago based on the need for home maintenance and renovations that were arising at homes which were built by our parent building company at the time. While they built homes from the ground up, they were unable to provide home maintenance. We wanted to help and saw a need. There weren’t any companies in the area specializing in residential property maintenance so we created a full-service company to be able to serve homes all over Fairfield County.
I wish I could show homeowners how much time and money they could save by having their home maintenance handled proactively by TotalCare.
Best selling product or service?
We provide one service which is full-service property maintenance which encompasses all home maintenance services from gutter cleaning to landscaping to kitchen renovations. We also have a smaller service which is TC Watch, a home watch service for unoccupied properties.
Do you use any local businesses to support your company?
We use all local business to support our business as we have an expansive network of subcontractors across all disciplines, from painters to landscapers to pool companies to carpenters to roofers to electricians to plumbers.
