Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Burn Boot Camp!

Three questions with Emma Halliwell, founder of Burn Boot Camp.

Why did you start your business?

As a personal trainer I’ve always been passionate about helping people achieve their fitness goals, I fell in love with Burn during my first workout and could immediately see why it’s one of the fastest-growing fitness brands in the country. The ever-changing mix of cardio / HITT and Strength training means you never do the same workout twice.

The elite trainers offer nutrition support through one-on-one Focus Meetings AND the community of support and accountability is wonderful. I brought the Wilton location in October 2021 and am thrilled that we are growing so rapidly! I love watching new members fall in love with the gym, most people start by working out 2 or 3 days a week but quite quickly most members come in every day… they get FOMO when they don’t come in!

What is your best-selling product/service?

We offer monthly memberships (that include Unlimited Camps/Focus Meetings and FREE child watch) and our 12-month membership is our most popular. We also sell a range of clean nutrition products, our chocolate whey AfterBurn protein powder is our best seller along with our Chocolate Almond Protein Bar.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

We love all of our local business friends, we work with:

* ‘The Well’ in Wilton - the best for nutritious lunch/dinners and juices.

* ‘Restore’ in Westport – our go-to for easing sore muscles, we love the Cryo tank and compression legs

* ‘Fleet Feet’ in Westport – the ultimate place to get your sneakers. 3D foot scanning to make sure they are perfect for every workout.
‘Complexion Perfection’ in Wilton – We love Christine’s medical spa for everything beauty related.

Emma would like to nominate Fleek Feet in Westport to be featured next!
