Wilton Police make arrests in Campus Jewelers burglary incident

Wilton Police arrest four suspects in connection with a burglary that took place at Campus Jewelers (5 River Rd) in Wilton. Police say they expect to make additional arrests.

"After a lengthy investigation and with the assistance of the NYPD, Nassau County Sheriff’s Department, and the FBI NYC, we were able to identify the subjects responsible and arrest warrants have been obtained for all four suspects," Wilton Police explain.

On October 18, 2017 four suspects entered Campus Jewelers, three white females and one white male. The three females then distracted the two salespersons while the male stole jewelry from behind the counter and put it in a brown paper shopping bag that he was carrying. The suspects then purchased an item with cash prior to all four suspects leaving the store with the stolen jewelry totaling over $21,000, police say.

On 1/19/2018, Yolanda Santa, age 56, (shown in photo) was arrested by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department at her home in Ridgewood, NY as a Fugitive from Justice on a Warrant obtained by the Wilton Police Department for her involvement in the Larceny at Campus Jewelers.

On 1/31/2018, after waiving extradition Santa was turned over to Wilton Police Detectives and returned to CT. Santa was processed and charged with Larceny 1st and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 1st. She is being held on $100,000 bond and will be arraigned at Norwalk Superior Court on 2/1/2018.
