Wilton Police make arrests following Wolf Pit Road suspicious vehicle complaint

On Friday April 13, 2018 at approximately 12:10pm officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle complaint on Wolfpit Rd. Officers located the vehicle which was occupied by two (2) adult males and one (1) juvenile male from the Bronx, NY.

Directly outside of the vehicle was an opened package addressed to a Wolfpit Rd resident located approximately .5 miles from where the vehicle was found.

An investigation revealed that the package had been delivered to the front stoop of the residence a short time earlier and was subsequently stolen. The package was a legitimate purchase by the victim resident that was approximately $434 in value.

Further investigation revealed that the victim resident was recently the victim of identity theft in which their personal identifying information was used to purchase a clothing item in excess of $3,000. The clothing item was delivered to the victim residence approximately 2-hours later. It was evident that the suspects had initially stolen the wrong package from the residence.

Mamadu Barry, age 20, and Mohamed Fofana, age 20, both of the Bronx, NY were arrested and charged with:

Larceny 6th
Conspiracy Larceny 6th
Identity Theft 3rd
Conspiracy Identity Theft 3rd
Criminal Trespass 3rd
Conspiracy Criminal Trespass 3rd
Interfering with an Officer

Both were released on $1,000 bond and will be arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court on April 23, 2018.

The juvenile male was arrested for the same charges.
